A New Era عهد جديد

بلال ملقياً نظرة فاحصة على صورة للملك في الجريدة يعلق قائلاً "ماما ، سيدو اكبر من الملك عبدالله " أوافقه  . فيضيف قائلاً ""بس الملك عبد الله أكبر من سيدو في الحكومة (ربما عنى الحكم) " لا أتمالك نفسي وابتسم:  إبني ذي الخمس سنوات قد أجرى أول تحليل سياسي له.

Bilal looking earnestly at the King’s picture in the newspaper comments “ Mom,  grandpa is older than King Abdullah. “ I agree , then he adds conclusively  “King Abdullah is greater than grandpa in the government (I think he meant governance) .” I can’t help myself and smile: my five year old has conducted his first political analysis.

"ماما أنا بحب أحضر معك "Master Chef"  علشان أتعلم  ل"Good Manners"  لأنه المس حكتلنا لازم نتعلم "Good Manners" ." سند طفلي ذي الثلاث سنوات يبرر ليصل غايته.

“Mom , I like to watch Master Chef with you so I can learn ‘Good Manners’ because our teacher told us that we should learn ‘Good Manners’. ” Sanad my three year ol rationalizing why he should stay up late>

اليوم 29-12-2011

رناد تسألني "ماما ليش الملك عنده بيت كبير وبيطلع دايماً بالأخبار؟ كيف بتصير الدول ؟ مين بعملها ؟وكيف بصير في أعلام؟وشرطة وحكومة وقائد ؟" رناد طفلتي التي لم تتجاوز الثمان سنوات بعد تسألني عن أسس الدولة.

Rinad asks me “Mom why does the King has a big house and is always on the news? How are states created? Who creates them? And how do flags, police, government and a leader come to be? Who chose them?” Rinad my almost 8 year old asks me about the foundation of the state.

It's a new era! Happy New Year
إنه عهد جديد ! كل عام وانتم بخير

Jordan was on my couch

Today I watched the Asian Cup Quarter Final home with my three children Rinad 7 , Bilal 4and a half and Sanad 2 and a half . Rinad my daughter informed  by her older cousin and influenced by his enthusiasm was quite aware of what was on stake and led the cheers . The boys naturally followed. Bilal although not much interested in football  knew  that a Match means winning or losing and wanted Jordan to win. Sanad well just followed .

We made popcorn ,sat on the couch and cuddled under the fleece blanket enjoying the warmth of the gas heater.

I told them who's who : The Red was Jordan and White is Uzbekistan .

Rinad was our commentator she pointed out the passes, the goals and commented
 "Thank you! " she said excitedly . I was surprised and  asked"why?". she answered "that Uzbek player just passed the ball to the Jordanian Player".

She was excited : Shafee3 

Bilala:" hehehe Shafee3 Shafee3 "

Rinad :"Goal Goal you can make it ".

Sanad: "Goal Goal "

Rinad :" Oh Out"

Sanad :"Out Out!!'

We started to sing " hey yallah haey yallah "the kids sang their heart out 

The First Goal , The Second Goal : 2 Goals in the Jordanian nets 

Bilal said " Can we cheer for the winner ?"

Rinad: Of course not ! You have to cheer for your country , it's where we live

Bilal  nodded 

I started to cheer :  It's ok Jordan is like fire " معلش شو صار الأردن زي النار "

Rinad cheered along and also Sanad . 

Bilal asked us to lower our voices.

 Then the Jordanian Goal! The sitting-room was shaken

Bilal cheered and sang again .

Sanad was dozing.

Rinad asked me  "Is there a  prayer we can say so that Jordan wins?" 

So many lost chances , so many disappointments  and our team lost.

Rinad was sad . 

Bilal asked if we can move out of the country and live in Sharm Il Sheikh

Sanad was asleep. 

I told them" It was a fun game and the team tried their best and all would fail but what is important to do our best and learn from the mistakes "  you see at this age a mother still has influence and must spread hope.

I really believe in that , but won't stop anyone of my kids from seeking a better life although I pray they can realize it  in Jordan . 

Precious Moments !! تصبحون على وطن

 ما هي أمنياتكم للعام الجديد ؟
"What are your wishes for the new year ?"I asked my kids .

بلال : بدي اضلني معك . أذوب يريد البقاء معي ربما أقل مدرسة واقل عمل 

Bilal: " I wish to stay with you . " I just melted he only wants me and maybe less school and work .

رناد بعد تفكير عميق :"بدي حيوان .بسة لأنو سند ،حيحب. وكمان البسة بتاكل الفيران  " . لقد كانت لنا مغامرة صغيرة مع فأر العمارة .

Rinad: " I wish for a pet . A cat because Sanad would like that and it can eat mice " We had a mouse incident in our building.

سند: بسة.

Sanad: "Cat"
  يضيف بلال : بدي أضلني معك وانتي بتجيبي 3 بسس .
Bilal added:" I want to stay with you when you buy us three Cats !"
أخبرهم أنه من الصعب تحقق ذلك لأنه لدي بالفعل 3 هررة .
I tell that it's unlikely to happen , we don't have a garden and I have 3 Kittens of my own ;)
أشعر بأن الله قد منّ علي .
I feel so blessed .

Il Hamdillah for everything .
في أوقات كهذه على الرغم من ارتفاع أسعار السولار و تدني الأجور و العراكات العشائرية الضيقة في الجامعات و انعدام العدالة في النظام . فان هذه اللحظات هي التي تدعك تعتقد أن لا بد للحق أن ينجلي و أن علينا السعي لذلك .

It is these moments that in-spite the raise of Diesel Prices and the Low salaries, the tribal narrow-minded fights in the University of Jordan , the injustices in the system that make you believe that Right has to Prevail and we should be active in pursuing this . 

كوالد لا تستطيع الا أن تعمل ما بقدرتك و ان تستمر 

As a parent you can't afford but to do your best and go on .

I ask my God to bless our families all through the years to come
